CLEVELAND, Ohio – The dreaded “wintry mix” is forecast for the Cleveland and Akron areas this week, according to the National Weather Service.

The mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow will likely arrive in Cleveland early Tuesday morning as temperatures fluctuate around 31 degrees. Around 8 p.m. it could only rain and in the afternoon it could be a mixture of rain and snow when temperatures reach 36 degrees. It could just snow again on Tuesday evening, with temperatures in their upper 20s.

In the Akron area it will be a little different. The wintry mix starts at 2am on Tuesday but will give way to foggy conditions after 4am. The rain is expected to ruin the morning, then a mix of rain and snow in the afternoon. Look for highs near 40 degrees on Tuesday.

Looking back on Monday, the weather will be pretty uneventful, with highs in the mid-30s and mostly cloudy skies.

And after the mess on Tuesday, the rest of the week will follow a similar pattern to Monday. It is expected to be mostly cloudy most days, although some sunny skies are forecast on Friday. In terms of temperatures, Wednesday stays in the low 30s for a high and falls into the low 20s overnight.

Thursday will be cool, with highs in your mid 20s and lows in your teenage years. Friday highs will be in the top 20s and lows will be around 20 degrees.

There are chances of snow showers on Saturday peaking around 30, and rain and snow showers are possible on Sunday when temperatures hit the low 40s.
