Youngstown State’s MVFC rival South Dakota State falls in FCS Nationwide Championship


South Dakota State was late in taking the lead but was unable to maintain it in the national championship

FRISCO, Texas (WKBN) – The South Dakota state soccer team fell 23-21 in the FCS National Championship against Sam Houston state.

South Dakota State is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Youngstown State struggles but falls to South Dakota State to avoid a win

Earlier this season, Youngstown State fell to the Jackrabbits 19-17 at Brookings.

SDSU were 17: 7 behind in the fourth quarter, but were able to secure the lead thanks to two touchdown runs by Isaiah Davis.

Davis’ first went for 28 yards and his second, giving the jackrabbits the lead, went for 85 yards.

But in less than a minute, Sam Houston’s Eric Schmid found Ife Adeyi for a 10-yard touchdown that finally gave them the lead.

SDUS finished the season 8-2.
