COLUMBUS, Georgia (WRBL) – For over 95 years, the Harlem Globetrotters have entertained the crowds with their basketball moves and rattling dunks. On Tuesday evening they made a stop in Columbus as part of their “Spread Game” tour.
The basketball ambassadors made the fans at the Civic Center laugh and showed off their basketball pizza against the Washington Generals.
“We are very happy to be back in these arenas,” said Globetrotter “Cheese” Chisholm. “To give our fans the globetrotter way we love this game. We are so happy to be out there again. ”
The Globetrotters’ mission is to “spread games and bring entertainment to the world”. This team has entertained Popes, Kings, Queens and Presidents around the world, but when the world closed last year, live interactions like this were cut off. Shooting Guard Cheese Chisholm says it’s good to be back.

“I know everyone was locked up, everyone was home … people like to get out, especially the kids,” said Chisholm. “We want to get back to our core. Our core is simply to bring families together and be here on this hardwood. “
The globetrotters have traveled to 124 countries since they were founded in 1926 and can now finally “trot around the globe”. After Columbus, the Globetrotters will continue touring North America and overseas.
