BAY COUNTY, Florida (WJHG / WECP) –
One person is dead after a three car accident in Panama City on Saturday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol officials say the driver of the first car drove south-south in the outer lane of US 231 south of Scotts Ferry Road.
The second car was traveling north in the inner lane and passed the third car in the outer lane.
The driver of the first vehicle crossed the inner lane towards the south, entered the middle mean value and began to tip over.
The driver and passenger of the first vehicle were ejected from the vehicle.
As the first vehicle entered the northbound lanes, the second vehicle hit the rear of the first vehicle, and the third vehicle hit both vehicles as they spun from the original crash.
US 231 is closed as emergency officers are working on the scene.
