FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – North Dakota state football has reached the point in spring camp where they are starting to move away from normal team prep and move on to prep for the first week.

Something that is very challenging for Youngstown State this year.

“They basically wiped the staff up and down, so there aren’t a lot of films right now that we think are relevant,” said Lane Tucker, Junior Defensive Tackle. “We’ve been watching Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, Finley two years ago.”

“It was one of the more challenging fixtures our staff has ever put together because there are a lot of situations where you suspect a little,” added Defense Coordinator David Braun. “In the last few years there hasn’t been a specific film about how they want to attack the defense.”

With so much unknown, says Braun, they rely most on their basics.

“When we play with great fundamentals, you play extremely hard and play within calls that our guys love to make. We feel like we’ve been giving ourselves the chance to be successful since they entered campus, ”said Braun.

With the basics as a foundation, Braun says the only thing left to do on game day is to adjust accordingly.
