YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Ms. Marlo Michelle Burney, 53, of Youngstown, left her physical life and began her journey home at her home on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Marlo was born on December 13, 1967 in Youngstown to Janice Tillman Cox and Melvin Burney.
She was a fun-loving, compassionate person who loved her family and friends and who never took them for granted.
She volunteered with the Salvation Army and several local authorities.
She was an avid cook, attended many family gatherings, and enjoyed going to the casino and playing BINGO. Marlo had a great outlook on life and when asked if she needed anything, she always replied, “I’m fine”. If you asked any of her family members and friends, they would tell you that Marlo was kind, had a gentle spirit, and always cared for those in need. Her family said she made a great nurse.
Willie James Beacham, her dear friend and companion, goes to keep her memory (all of Youngstown). her aunt Lois Tillman Clark, who Marlo raised with her brother Derrick Tillman; Sister Janeen Burney Winfrey; her cousin Maurice Clark, Sr. Marlo is also missing her brother Melvin Williams; Sisters Lisa and Leslie Williams, Michelle Howell and Michelle Ashmore; her nephew Jamon ‘Winfrey; Nieces, Janice Buryen and Re’Nee (Ryan) Stoddard; Aunts, Roberta Snipes Berry, Nancy Cash Howard, and their cousin Deborah Johnson who helped look after them.
In addition to family members, she goes to mourn her homegoing, her best friend, Ramona (LaTasha) Milender-Jordan. her best friend, whom she referred to as her brother Duane (punkin) Witherspoon; her dog Max; and an abundance of family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, her grandparents Sarah Adair Snipes Tillman and James (Monk) Tillman die before her. Aunt Betty Snipes Jamison; Uncle Kenneth “Tree” Washington and Maurice Snipes.
The tour will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at LE Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Private memorial service will follow for families only.
