COLUMBUS, Wisconsin – The Department of Justice of the Wisconsin Department of Justice is conducting a death investigation in Columbus.

According to the DOJ, Columbus police were sent home Friday morning because of a domestic incident. When they got there, they saw a man running from the area. Authorities searched the area but could not find the man.

A body was discovered in the Crawfish River on Saturday morning. Authorities say they believe it is the same man who ran away from home.

DCI is leading this investigation and is supported by the Columbus Police Department, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, and the DOJ Office of Crime Victim Services.
