Man dies days after getting shot a number of occasions in Cleveland, leaving hospital


CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 38-year-old man died Wednesday 11 days after someone shot him and two days after he left the hospital against medical advice, according to police.

Demetrius Nettles of Cleveland died at Fairview Hospital after a medical emergency, according to Cleveland police. No arrests were made in the case.

The shooting took place on May 8 on Haltnorth Walk in the King Kennedy complex of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority in the city’s central neighborhood, police said. Nettles were shot several times.

Cleveland Police did not release any additional information about the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Nettles signed out of MetroHealth on Monday. He suffered an unspecified medical emergency the next day and died on Wednesday, police said.
