YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Mr. Hilliard Charles Smith, 67, of Youngstown, entered eternal rest at Heritage Manor on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Mr. Smith, affectionately known as “Shorty,” was born on January 21, 1954 in Austin, Texas, to George and Betty Allen Smith.

He was a 1972 South High School graduate and a US Army veteran.

Hilliard was a master painter at Earl Schieb Auto Paint and Body for 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, playing video games and chess, being with his family, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

He leaves his wife, the former Marsha Lewis, whom he married on June 2, 1994 to mourn his death but enjoy his eternal peace; six children, Master Sgt. Jacquese (Master Sgt. Quintin) Small from North Dakota, Antwan Smith from Columbus, Christopher (Amy) Smith from Memphis, Tennessee, Angelo (Stacy) Smith and Jason Smith from Youngstown; his stepdaughter Davonnia Kirkland of Youngstown; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Christine (Chris) Jordan from Youngstown, Vickie Satterwhite and Carolyn (Karlos) Mills, both from Cleveland, and Georgia Carter from Chicago, Illinois, and loads of family and friends.

Hilliard preceded his parents in death; and one son, Marcus Smith.

The visitation will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.

Due to the pandemic, all guests are asked to wear masks and to adhere to the rules of distance.
