Officials reported multiple accidents in central Ohio on Sunday evening as temperatures plummeted and wet roads froze.
A Winter weather advice was spent on much of central Ohio until midnight, as the lightest possible freezing drizzle turns to ice on untreated surfaces. The National Weather Service issued a special statement advising motorists in the area to exercise caution when traveling on Sunday evenings.
According to the NWS office in WilmingtonNumerous accidents have been reported, particularly in the east and west lanes of Interstate 70, and slippery spots as temperatures drop below freezing on roads and surfaces.
The Ohio Department of Transportation According to ODOT spokesman Matt Bruning, more than 400 crews carried out street treatments all afternoon after work to counteract the precarious conditions.

According to the weather service, more wintry weather is announced for Monday. Heavy rainfall – including snow and freezing rain – is forecast for the morning and afternoon.
