Frank R. DeCola, Youngstown, Ohio Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Frank R. DeCola of Matthews, North Carolina, a beloved son, brother, and uncle passed away Thursday June 10, 2021.

He was born on June 30, 1964 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Janet (Babtist) and Frank DeCola.

Frank graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1982 and attended Youngstown State University, where he studied criminal justice.

Most of his professional life he was a senior appraiser, most recently at Donofrio Mechanicals.

Frank was a kind soul with a heart of gold who was forever loyal to his friends and family. He enjoyed a good debate with anyone who got involved and always made time for loved ones. An avid sports fan his entire life, Frank enjoyed golf, NASCAR, attended college and professional sporting events, particularly Notre Dame and the Washington Football Team. Frank will be missing his four siblings Jean (George) Schidell from Boardman, Ron (Michele) DeCola from Poland, Victoria (John) Thompson from Avon and Patty DeCola from Poland; Niece Mia DeCola; four nephews, Michael (Lindsay) Schidell, Anthony DeCola, Michael, and John Thompson; Great niece Audrey Schidell and the loving uncle, aunt and cousin John, Charlyn and Christopher DeCola.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Janet (Babtist) and Frank DeCola and grandparents Domenico and Pierina DeCola, Domenic and Victoria Babtist.

A private family service will be held on Friday, June 18 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, Ohio.

Entombment in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
