COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Lucas Zelarayan scored in the first half and defending MLS champion Columbus Crew beat DC United 3-1 on Saturday for the first time this season.

Zelarayan’s 25-yard free kick in the 20th minute was the crew’s first goal of the season (1-0-2).

DC United (1-3-0) had two own goals in the second half. Pedro Santos’ left-footed shot was blocked by DC goalkeeper Chris Seitz at team-mate Frederic Brillant, whose chest deflection went into the net in the 63rd minute for a goal from Columbus.

Former Crew striker Ola Kamara brought DC back in 81 minutes with a left-footed shot in one, but Columbus quickly returned to two when Tony Alfaro’s 83rd-minute own goal equalized.

NASHVILLE 2, REVOLUTION 0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – CJ Sapong and Alex Muyl scored a goal in Nashville’s victory over New England.

Sapong scored in the 25th minute after a header from Walker Zimmerman with his left foot and Muyl scored in the 75th minute for Nashville (1-0: 3). New England fell to 2-1-1.

WHITECAPS 2, MONTREAL 0

SANDY, Utah (AP) – Cristian Dajome scored two goals in the second half to get Vancouver past Montreal.

The Whitecaps (2-1-1) play their home games at Real Salt Lake’s Rio Tinto Stadium until at least the end of June in 2021. Montreal fell to 1-1-2.

RED BULLS 2, TORONTO FC 0

HARRISON, NJ (AP) – Frankie Amaya scored his first goal for New York and Caden Clark added a late goal to end Toronto.

New York improved to 2-2-0 and Toronto fell to 0-2-1.

DYNAMO 1, FC DALLAS 1, TIE

FRISCO, Texas (AP) – Jider Obrian scored the winning goal towards the end of the first half and Dallas held onto the Houston draw.

Fabrice-Jean Picault scored the goal for Houston (1: 1: 2) with a penalty in the right corner in the 34th minute. Obrian joined it for Dallas (1-1-2) in the 42nd.

UNION 2, FIRE 0

CHICAGO (AP) – Corey Burke and Jacob Glesnes scored a goal to help Philadelphia beat Chicago.

Andre Blake had a late save for his 40th shutout. The Union (1-2-1) have won five of their last six games against the Fire (0-3-1).

NEW YORK CITY FC 1, ORLANDO CITY 1, TIE

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Valentín Castellanos converted a 77th-minute penalty into the fifth player in MLS history to score in the first four games of a season and help New York City draw with Orlando City.

Nani opened the goal for Orlando (1-0: 3) in the 52nd minute with a curling shot.

New York City is 2-1-1.
