COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – Broadway was filled with families walking around checking out local businesses’ tables, activities, and crafts.
Columbus Ax hosted a family-friendly event that included an Easter egg hunt, games, candy, crafting table, and even dartboards for kids under 18 to join in the fun while their parents tossed axes at a different trail.
Manager Priscilla Cruz said her main goal for this event is to give back to the community, especially after last year’s ongoing events.
“You just go for walks and strolls and you have kids with you and maybe you don’t want to throw axes that are okay,” Cruz said. “Today we wanted to make sure you had another opportunity to celebrate what Easter means to you and your family.”
Other stores like Uptown Exclusives offered egg coloring, balloons, and a guessing game with gummy bears.
Reese Parkerson, who works for Uptown Exclusives, said doing something like this shows the community they care about.
“If mom and parents want to stop and shop, they’re welcome while the kids make their eggs, eat their snacks, and have fun.” said Parkerson.
Not only was it a treat for families, but it also brought in customers for local businesses.
“Yeah, it attracted a lot of people who were really, really good at.” said Parkerson.
