CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Two EMS members from Cleveland were injured when their ambulance was hit by a car that was being driven by a suspected disabled driver.
Police investigators said the ambulance was stopped with flashing lights on at around 10 p.m. on Sunday evening as it responded to a medical emergency on Triskett Road.
A 45-year-old man driving a rear-mounted Kia driver finished the ambulance, Cleveland police said. He was taken to MetroHealth Hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, the driver is said to have driven a vehicle while drunk.
Two members of the ambulance service were also taken to MetroHealth Hospital. Their injuries were considered minor and they have since been discharged from medical care.
According to the police, the accident is still being investigated.
