MENTOR, Ohio – This weekend, the Cleveland Crunch hosted a second soccer camp to give back. The football camp that the team club hosted was for children with autism, and about a dozen children came to the event in Mentor.
The camp was tailored for children with intellectual disabilities and the club would like to continue doing so in the future.
The camp consists of teaching participants basic football skills and is very broad.
“Practice basic soccer skills like passing, dribbling, defending, shooting, goalkeeping,” said Luciano Ruscitto, Managing Partner of Cleveland Crunsh. “The way it is presented to them is very detailed and visual and is explained step by step. I think the way it is structured and presented makes it fit for autism. “
Three members of the team were on site for the camp as they are currently celebrating a championship again in their first season.
