Surveillance footage and police revealed that the woman then set the clothes on fire while filming on a cell phone. The footage shows the fire spreading and a nearby vacant building catching fire. CPD said the footage then showed the woman ran away after being spotted by someone close by. The fire continued to spread through the three-story building. The fire brigade came and put out the fire. CPD estimates the fire damaged three floors and caused approximately $ 5,000 in damage. The now vacant building used to house Nick’s Food Market. Howard Nichols owned the business and ran the business with his wife, Dorie, and two sons, Joe and Howard Jr., for over 40 years. On Monday, the now grown sons visited the damaged building. “It just applies,” said Nichols Jr. of the fire and the suspect. “When the firefighters were here risking their lives to build. an empty building. And I would guess many of these places are here. If one burns, it moves on to the next and you just don’t know, so you have to get someone like that off the street. ”Or crime stopper. On June 14, police said a suspect identified as a woman dumped a bag of clothes in an alley on Bates Avenue.
Surveillance footage and police revealed that the woman then set the clothes on fire while filming on a cell phone. The footage shows the fire spreading and a nearby vacant building catching fire.
CPD said the footage then showed the woman ran away after being spotted by someone close by. The fire continued to spread through the three-story building. The fire brigade came and put out the fire.
