Luka Stojanovic scored in the 77th minute and Bobby Shuttleworth made his only save in the second half of stoppage time to give the Chicago Fire a 1-0 win over the visiting Columbus Crew on Sunday and extend their unbeaten streak to four games .

The Fire (5-9-5, 20 points) have won two in a row and drawn two since the beginning of August.

Columbus (6-7-6, 24 points) has lost four games in a row, the longest losing streak in five consecutive games from June 23 to July 13, 2019.

Shuttleworth parried a shot from Alexandru Matan in the 92nd minute. After several distractions after the parade, Bradley Wright-Phillips’ shot hit the right post for the crew’s last chance.

The crew was disfellowshipped for the eighth time while Shuttleworth received its third shutout.

Eloy Room made five saves for the crew who had unbeaten a series of seven games against the Fire (3-0-4).

Stojanovic, who scored two goals in the last game in the Fire’s 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls, took a pass off Brian Gutierrez’s thigh, turned and scored his sixth goal.

The Fire stand 3-0-5 in their past eight home games with Columbus.

The crew’s first good look came in the 49th minute when Gyasi Zardes picked up a ball from Lucas Zelarayan but shot his shot outside the goal into the left flank.

From there the fire started destroying the defenses of Columbus. Fabian Herbers scored an open header, which Room saved in the 61st minute. In the 72nd minute, Robert Beric headed a cross from Carlos Teran, which Room tipped.

The game at Chicago’s Soldier Field was troubled, and Sunday’s game came a day after the NFL’s Chicago Bears hosted the Miami Dolphins in a preseason game on the same surface.

While Columbus plays for the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday, the Fire has just played three games at home. They face Inter Miami CF in the first of six away games on Wednesday. Chicago has played 11 of its last 15 games on the road.
