YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man was detained in Mahoning County Jail for domestic violence and criminal assault on Wednesday after he reportedly lured his girlfriend home by telling her there was a fire and then shot at them.
Herman Posey, 43, is expected to face charges of assault and domestic violence in the city court Friday. He was arrested just after 10 a.m. Wednesday after police were called to the 2700 block on Hammaker Street for a report of gunfire.
A woman reportedly told police that she had an argument with Posey. She said after going to work he called her and said her apartment was on fire.

When she got home, the man shot her from a handgun but missed her, reports say.
Posey then ran towards his apartment on Robinwood Place, reportedly where police found him. They reportedly found a gun in a clothes basket next to him.
A witness told police they heard a shot and saw Posey raise a gun as if he were shooting, reports say. Another witness told police they saw Posey holding a gun as he ran away.
Police reportedly found a cartridge case on Hammaker Street near where the woman was shot.
