A Rumpke driver is hailed as a hero for rescuing a puppy near Cincinnati on Wednesday morning.

According to Rumpke, Aaron Kinsel was working when he noticed a discarded backpack along the road in Colerain Township.

Kinsel then noticed that the bag was moving. Then he got out of the truck and found a 10 week old puppy.

Rumpke said the female boxer mix is ​​being treated at a local veterinarian’s office for dehydration and a broken leg.

“I felt like I should find her,” said Kinsel.

Kinsel and his family decided to adopt the dog they call Tipper, named for a mechanism that is used on the back of garbage trucks in residential areas to help pick up dumpsters.

“For your safety and that of our customers, the Rumpke drivers are trained to remain attentive. We do our best to take care of our communities and always do the right thing, ”said Kendra Catherman Cincinnati, security manager at Rumpke. “We are very proud of Aaron and look forward to making Tipper an honorary member of our Rumpke team.”
