YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police have charged a woman a death on March 7th on Youngstown’s south side.

Celeste Curry, 58, has been sent to Mahoning County Prison for murder.

Detective Sgt. Dave Sweeney, the lead investigator on the case, said the decision was made to indict Curry in a city court Wednesday after consulting with city and county prosecutors. It wouldn’t be more specific.

She is charged with shooting a man on the 100 block of East Auburndale Avenue on March 7th. Police said the shooting took place during an argument.

Mahoning County Coroner Office has not yet released the victim’s name.

The police have consulted with prosecutors as to whether anyone should be charged in the case.

The chief of detectives, Captain Rod Foley, said there was a lot of evidence for investigators to review.

“It wasn’t your usual murder case,” said Foley. “There was a lot of evidence to review and a lot of evidence to review.”
