Cranford Knights of Columbus Corned Beef Dinner Raises $4,000

Due to the restrictions of COVID 19, the Cranford Knights of Columbus Council No. 6226 was unable to hold our annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance in 2020 and again this year in 2021. As an alternative, the council decided to run a fundraising campaign for the corned beef dinner which was a huge success.

Brother Ritter and their families cooked over 650 pounds of corned beef and prepared and sold 550 dinners. In addition, 110 dinners were donated to Cranford Family Care and five trays of leftover corned beef were donated to St. Joseph’s Social Service Center in Elizabeth. From the proceeds, the council was able to collect $ 4,000, which was donated to the Will DeGregorio Scholarship Fund of the Cranford PAL.

On the check delivery at St. Michael’s Church, Mary Garden, from left are the council chaplain, Monsignor Tim Shugrue, the worthy advisor Jim Byrnes, the grand knight Jim Feehan Jr., the deputy grand knight Jerry Conheeney, Will’s mother Kara Shields, Will’s aunt and zu see Cranford PAL Board Member Kim Capece, Cranford PAL President Lt. Chris Polito and Executive Director Lt. Matt Nazzaro. The Cranford Council would like to thank the Cranford Community for their tremendous support for this worthy fundraiser.
