POWELL, Ohio – Columbus Zoo and Aquarium strongly encourages visitors to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.

😷 As per CDC guidelines, we strongly recommend everyone wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Please note that for the health and safety of the animals, masks are required on some designated tours, regardless of their vaccination status.

The zoo’s announcement comes days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed some of their masking guidelines, suggesting that even vaccinated people are wearing masks in areas with high COVID-19 transmission.

The zoo is joining several companies in central Ohio that are reintroducing mask guidelines to slow the spread.

Health officials gave one Advice on inner masks for Columbus and Franklin Counties, which requires everyone to wear face covering regardless of vaccination status.
