Ohio-based Watershed Distillery recently announced their new head distiller who brings some experience from the heartland of bourbon – Aaron Harris.
Harris is the distillery’s first chief distiller and brings years of know-how from two Kentucky-based distilleries. Now he joins one of the oldest and largest craft distilleries in Ohio. He will be responsible for overseeing production and quality control, and will help lead the bourbon innovation team.
“Aaron is an important addition to the Watershed team,” said Greg Lehman, CEO of Watershed Distillery. in a prepared statement. “To add this talented bourbon maker and rising star in the distillation industry to our team is exciting. After a year that has been challenging for so many in our industry, it means a lot to us that we can expand our team in 2021. We have big plans for Watershed and we feel we have one of the best teams in the industry.

Harris comes from Bardstown, Kentucky, to Watershed, where he was a Distillery Supervisor for Lux Row Distillers. He also served as the Distillery Supervisor for Barton 1792 Distillery.
“I’m excited to be here in Columbus and to be part of an organization that has become such a respected name in the artisanal distillation industry,” said Harris. “We have exciting developments in store for Watershed’s bourbon offerings in 2021, and I look forward to making bourbon in Buckeye State.”
The distillery celebrated its 10th anniversary as an independent craft distillery in Ohio in 2020. Some special releases are planned for 2021.
Watershed Distillery has been distilling, building and dividing in Columbus, Ohio since 2010, and the distiller’s creative liquor range shows what is described as the brand’s commitment to using local ingredients, time-honored practices and the pursuit of perfection.
