Cincinnati firefighters reply to ‘heavy fireplace’ at Clifton residence


According to the Cincinnati Fire Department, firefighters are working to put out a fire in Clifton, near Vine Street Hill Cemetery.

Fire companies arrived at a “heavy fire” building on West Mitchell Ave at around 8:16 pm. 35 at Tweet.

Officials said that fire was showing from the building’s second and third floors.

Firefighters initially worked defensively to contain most of the fire, but since then they have taken an offensive approach, officials said.

Cincinnati police say West Mitchell Avenue between Vine Street and Interstate 75 has been closed because of the fire.
