Officials revealed the cause of death of Allyson Sidloski, the Strongsville University of Cincinnati soccer player who died in May while boating near Cincinnati in May.
According to the Hamilton County Coroner, Sidloski had extremely high levels of carbon monoxide in her blood at the time of her drowning.
“Based on the autopsy results and the information I had at the time of the autopsy, I believe the cause of death is drowning and the contributory cause of death is carbon monoxide poisoning,” said Russell L. Uptegrove, assistant coroner for Hamilton County, writes in the report get 3News.
A representative for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources said in May that Sidloski was last seen hanging on a boat’s swim platform before disappearing into the water. and confirmed to WLWT, 3News’ sister station in Cincinnati said the Strongsville native likely inhaled carbon monoxide from the boat, causing her to slide into the water.
Within a few days of Sidloski’s death, a GoFundMe page was founded to help family provide scholarships for young athletes like her daughter and sister.
“Our Angel Ally has touched so many people’s lives. We want to let their legacy live on by awarding scholarships on their behalf, ”the GoFundMe description reads. The current total is just over $ 108,000.
Sidloski was a four-year-old player at Strongsville High School and a player on the University of Cincinnati women’s team before her untimely death. She was just 21 years old.
