CLEVELAND – An 18-year-old was found shot dead on Hopkins Avenue Tuesday night.
When officials found the 18-year-old, he was shot several times. They gave him first aid until EMS arrived. The 18-year-old was taken to university hospitals where he was pronounced dead.
Almost at the same time, police learned of a second wounded person on Thornhill Drive. Investigators found that this second person – a 19-year-old man – was linked to the Hopkins Avenue shooting.

The 19-year-old had been shot in the back and taken to the university hospitals. He is now in police custody.
Investigators believe the 18-year-old and 19-year-old may have been involved in drug activities, a police spokesman said. Something went sideways and there was a fight. Shots were exchanged and the 19-year-old tried to drive away.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
