The Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department responded to 28 calls for help in December. These incidents included eight motor vehicle accidents, seven structural fires, six fire alarm activations, four medical aids, a vehicle fire, a carbon monoxide test, and a smoke test. These incidents totaled 174 man hours.
The December calls bring the department’s end of year to 395 incidents in 2020. These incidents included 104 fire alarm activations, 91 motor vehicle accidents, 64 structural fires, 56 medical aids, 37 civil servants, 16 brush fires, nine vehicle fires, six incidents involving hazardous substances five emergency services for another department, two rope rescues, two transformer fires, two smoke investigations and an aircraft incident. These incidents totaled 2,471 man hours.
